A WORD from Dr. Ingrid Haynes
Greetings!
I am Dr. Ingrid Haynes, founder of the National Literacy Institute, and author of several best sellers: Vocabulary Strategies for Struggling Readers, Interventions and Strategies for Grades K-6 and 50 Plus Instructional Strategies for Grades 6 - 12.
I am striving to give educators and students a true look at many factors that daunt academic achievement. My platform tackles the experiences and challenges that students face in communities and educational environments.
By focusing on real-life topics such as; Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), Trauma, Bullying, Homelessness, Life Skills, Classroom Management, and more, it gives teachers a positive outlook on teaching and learning how childhood adversities affect students' persistence and resilience levels.
In addition, to my focus on education, I also provide professional support for professionals and business managers. Business is moving at a whirlwind pace. This has been and will continue to be a time of great disruption in organizations large and small. I provide managers and business leaders with practical skills and behaviors to develop a personal strategy that builds cultural responsiveness, team building and equity in the workforce. Sample topics below:
· Explore the concepts and benefits of cultural competency and cultural humility, providing practical knowledge, insights and inspiration.
· Introduce compassion and understanding into employee interactions and decision-making through awareness of the negative impact of everyday slights and snubs.
Aid your employees in tackling their blind spots and encourage inclusive thinking to create respectful teams
